In the ORF report in the “MEDkonkret” format, Dr Friedrich Mittermayer from the Co-Ordination talks about the increasing prevalence of insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes both in Austria and worldwide. He emphasises that around 50% of people are insulin-resistant to a greater or lesser extent, and the trend is rising. An important point is that a targeted blood test can help to detect insulin resistance, which is of great importance for the prevention and treatment of diabetes.
