More and more people are complaining about symptoms associated with food and drinks. It often turns out that this is due to food intolerances. In colloquial language, many people refer to experiencing symptoms such as discomfort, bloating, or diarrhea as having reacted "allergically" to something. However, in most cases, this is a body intolerance rather than an allergy.
In the case of a food intolerance, certain food ingredients are poorly or insufficiently metabolized. Predominantly, carbohydrate malassimilations are evident, where, for example, in lactose intolerance, there is a lack of sufficient enzymes, or in fructose intolerance, the necessary mechanisms are not adequately present.
To determine the correct diagnosis, it is important to document one’s own dietary behavior in a dietary protocol. This, combined with individual nutritional counseling, helps identify possible connections between symptoms and specific foods.
In the case of confirmed food intolerance, a change in diet helps to get existing complaints under control. In dietetic nutritional therapy, everyday dietary measures are developed, restoring personal quality of life.
However, not all gastrointestinal complaints are caused by food intolerances. Also, a fundamentally incorrect diet, another illness, or inadequate nutrient selection on the menu can manifest as digestive problems.
Through my dietetic nutritional intervention, I support you with personal, professional care on your path to a symptom-free everyday life.
